Nakedpresents is a Queer Collective that specialises in physical theatre and cabaret. The company is currently based in the UK with European roots.
The founding company members, Vincent and Paige-Marie Baker-Carroll, started working together in their second year at drama school. During their time studying European Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College, Vincent and Paige were fortunate enough to train abroad through the Erasmus scheme. The revolutionary work that Vincent and Paige were exposed to in Europe had a huge impact on them, changing their direction and outlook both personally and professionally.
Whilst working together, the pair accidentally fell into the cabaret scene and this opened their eyes to a whole different side of the performing arts industry.
Their work is all about being true to yourself, a celebration of the weird, the wonderful and the beautifully unique. As queer artists, this is a topic very close to Vincent and Paige’s hearts and is at the core all of NAKEDpresents’ work.
Vincent trained at The Centre for Advanced Training for Contemporary Dance (DANCE4), Bilborough College and The National Youth Theatre. This led them to study at Rose Bruford School of Theatre and Performance, on the BA (Hons) European Theatre Arts programme - an intensive vocational training that blends physical performance with contemporary approaches from a European perspective. Since Graduating Vincent has performed at Vault Festival, London Queer Fashion Week, Hermes Fashion, Tate Britain, The Silver Building, Latitude Festival, Boomtown Festival, Cirque Le Soir, The Box, Drama Park Lane, Bethnal Green Working Mens Club, Battersea Arts Centre, Dance 4, Curve Theatre & Civilised Mess Events.
Paige-Marie Baker-Carroll is an actor, theatre creator and cabaret performer who studied European Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford, where she met Luke. The course's multifaceted approach allowed her to realise and develop her artistic voice and gave her a hunger to create innovative theatre. Her work can appear experimental and unique due to the array of methodologies she is trained in and her background in playing professional football. In 2017/18, Paige had the opportunity to live, perform and teach for 8 months with the internationally acclaimed Polish Oratorio theatre collective Gardzienice - a place where the artists dedicate their lives to their craft. Their dedication inspired Paige to match this level of commitment in her artistic career. Paige has also played the lead in a short film for The Sun newspaper called ‘Rachel Rowe’s Life Story’, directed by Praxima.
